Golf balls for sale can generate profit in some of the most unique ways. It doesn’t matter whether the balls are new or if they are used — and there is a great potential for profit in the sale of used golf balls — what matters is that golfing as a recreational activity has a lot of promise for turning a buck in a number of ways.

How many people have stories about learning to play golf or watching what are generally called duffers out on the golf course who go through two sleeves of golf balls in a single 9 or 18-hole game? Chances are, everybody has a story, either about somebody else or about themselves and how many balls they lost in a single round.

Really good golf balls do not come cheap these days, and a sleeve (three golf balls in a sleeve) can run several dollars, new and in the box. In addition to greens fees and other assorted charges, who looks forward to paying 20 or more dollars every time they get out there and knock a few balls around off of the tee? Not many, most people would say.

So, one has the choice of going into the pro shop and finding a few golf balls for sale and then plunking down some money for new ones or they can use of used ones, which can be quite a bit cheaper while still just as good for most players’purposes. What can be really funny, though, is the lengths to which people will go to retrieve their lost golf balls.

There have been stories told at some of the harder PGA-certified courses where players have almost completely disrobed and taken a dive into a pond in order to find a golf ball. And this is where some profit potential can be realized for those who are willing to start up a business to find all of those lost golf balls after the course has shut down for the evening.

Some people invest in snorkel or scuba gear and make a quite lucrative living off of diving into ponds on golf courses gather up all those balls that end up in those water hazards. Also, they might use a partner to search the thickets and weeds or high grasses where other balls might be lost. Those pond divers down in Florida have to deal with in occupational hazard, by the way.

What that hazard is, of course, is the ubiquitous alligator found down in much of the state. One can imagine the site that greets a night diver when he pulls up to a pond and shine the light over the water and sees a few pairs of glowing eyes. At that point, it probably doesn’t matter how much profit golf balls can bring in, does it?

So, golfers have a choice when it comes to the money they plop down when it comes to golf balls for sale. They can either spend money for new balls or go for use balls, many of which are sold at just about every golf course or golf course driving range. Alligators might have their place in the scheme of things in Florida golf, but even then, the price for use balls will probably be much lower than for new.
